Well my ponies tail was bandaged because of his plait,

he was naughty in the morning to take it off but it didnt occur to me what it could be , so i just brushed it past .
then last night when i was putting him to bed.. i noticed he was still touchy around his back end . i took off his rugs and inspected him all over.. all seemed fine..

This morning he was still touchy so we took him to the vets ,

After trotting out heaps of times and vet trying to figure out why we could not even get a finger near his back end he went in the crush and she lifted his tail and OMG :bolt:

he had a rub underneath his tail.. it wasnt the nicest of things.

she said it would of been from having a bandage on over night.. it wasnt tight at all though,
has this happened to anyone else ?

and please no having a go at me, i already feel guilty as all hell and cant beleive my stupidity has caused my pony pain.. i dont need any more.. :bawlin:

Oh my ............. hope all is well soon

Yes silly things like this can happen - especially if their skin is white under the tail

BUT ............. be careful what drugs he has had

Because the Royal is only 2 weeks away and you dont want to be swabable

Find out from the vet!!

Hope all is well

yep i talked to the vet about the royal , as long as i stop giving him it 6 days before he will be fine apparently.. she said hopefully though in 5 days it would of scabbed over and can stop with the painkiller and just put the soothing cream on it .

although if there is any thought he is still in pai 6 days before i will not hesitate in keeping with the medication and scratching from the royal, i will not have my poor pony in pain.

Same thing happened to my mare Niki for our first show. I was devestated but it healed pretty quickly just using natural honey. Haven't used a tail bandage on her since either.
